At July 19 started Polish Archaeological Mission "Tyritake" of the National Museum in Warsaw. After two weeks of digging we may name first results. The most interesting find is flint knife, which confirm earlier suppositions about much more ancient than Greek settlement at Tyritake. We have explored also knocked down defence wall made from the clay bricks and dated for the end of the 6th century BC. This also confirms earlier reconstructions of the earliest defence constructions at Tyritake and other greek colonies in the region.
The Archaeological Mission will finish the activity at August 20, the Conservatory Mission at August 24.
The Polish-Ukrainian-Russian members of the Tyritake expeditions decided also about starting the football/soccer Tyritake Cup. First match won Ukraine to Russia 3:0, second Poland to Russia 8:0. Thi decisive and final match will be played at Saturday August 6th and the winner take for year the "Tyritake-shovel".
