On December 13, 2023, Alfred Twardecki, head of the "Ancient Monuments of the Black Sea" project, appeared before the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The topic of the presentation was the threat of warfare to archaeological sites, with particular emphasis on Olbia. The speech, at the request of the presidium members, was held in Polish.

Archaeological campaign 2022 canceled
Due to the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, our excavation campaign in Olbia is canceled in 2022.
Assistance for Olbia
With the help of the Polish National Heritage Institute (https://nid.pl/en/centrum-ukraina/) and the Ukrainian crisis aid center, it was possible to deliver to Olbia a transport of materials needed to protect the monuments. The employees of Zapovednik would like to thank everyone involved in this difficult and sometimes dangerous transport.

"Olbia in Hunnic period" conference 5-6.11.2021
On November 5 and 6, 2021, an international on-line conference will be held to summarize the results of the excavation work of the Polish mission in Olbia and to try to interpret them in a broader historical context.
